Withair® Expanded Use of Heat Pumps to Reduce Energy Consumption and GHG Emissions

The Heat Pump & Thermal Storage Technology Center of Withair (HPTCW) has been promoting the use of heat pumps and thermal storage systems which are technologies that utilize renewable energy sources. By analyzing the future image of heat pumps, HPTCW has estimated that the reduction in consumption of primary energy and emissions of greenhouse gas (GHG) that would be achieved by the expanded use of heat pumps.

The moment when a reduction in primary energy consumption becomes apparent differs depending on when heat pump equipment that is applicable to each sector or application is placed on the market and their diffusion curves. However, if heat pumps expand across markets, substantial energy savings and CO2 reductions will be possible.
